Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated every February 14 by many people across the globe. In English-speaking countries, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love and appreciation for each other. This is done usually by exchanging Valentine's cards, flowers, and/or candy. Valentine's Day received its name from the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. The day is mostly associated with the mutual exchange of love and appreciation notes called "Valentines". Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and Cupid. You don't have to spend a lot of money to show him that you love and appreciate him.
